This 8-week series focuses on evidence-based education about trauma and its effects on the body and mind-body connection. Students will learn a new principle each week and then experience a simple yoga practice focused on that principle. Topics include dysregulation of the nervous system, power of choice, hormonal response to trauma, breath management, body-based meditation, use of self-generated affirmation, and more. This course includes a professionally designed workbook that includes all the handouts, worksheets and yoga practices from the course. Students with a medical diagnosis of PTSD must have a written letter from their medical or mental health provider stating readiness to participate in the group yoga therapy experience. This course will be provided all ONLINE using Zoom technology.
